Unrecognized Bedouin village, Al Araqib, Negev, Israel, 22.2.201

A child climbs on the remains of houses demolished by Israeli authorities in the village of Al Araqib in the Negev (Naqab) Desert of southern Israel, February 22, 2014. Al Araqib is a village of Bedouin citizens of Israel which remains "unrecognized" by the Israeli government, and therefore lacks access to basic services. Authorities have demolished the village's structures more than 60 times. The Jewish National Fund plans to create a new forest that would cover the site of the village.
